Judge Cynthia Newton moved to St. Petersburg with her family in 1978 from California.
She graduated from St. Petersburg High School where she was the number one tennis player on the girls State Championship winning tennis team. She was a NCAA Division I Tennis player at the University of South Carolina, where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy. After graduating from college, she worked at the State House in Columbia, South Carolina, and then earned her Juris Doctorate degree at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. She began her legal career at the Public Defender's Office where she worked for ten years before being elected Circuit Court judge in 2004. She has presided in Circuit Civil, Family, Criminal, and Probate divisions over the past 20 years.
Outside of work, Judge Newton is an avid triathlete, and she volunteers in the Pet Therapy program at Moffitt Cancer in Tampa with her golden retriever, Leo.
Pamela A. M. Campbell is a Circuit Judge for the Sixth Judicial Circuit; Pinellas and Pasco Counties. She was appointed to the bench in 2006 and has been re-elected three times without opposition. She has served in a felony criminal division, family division, civil division and currently presides in a probate and guardianship division in St. Petersburg. She also serves on the Civil Appellate panel. She has presided over 40 criminal jury trials and over 100 civil jury trials. She practiced law in St. Petersburg for 17 years, with an emphasis in health care law, probate, and guardianship law, before her appointment to the bench. She was rated “AV” by Martindale Hubbell. Prior to becoming an attorney, she had 14 years of experience in the legislative arena working in an administrative role in the Florida House of Representatives, United States Senate, and later as a political consultant with a national governmental affairs firm. Judge Campbell has a long commitment to the community through numerous charitable and non-profit organizations. Most notably, she served for many years on the Board of Directors, and as Chairman, of Operation PAR, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program located in the Tampa Bay area. She also served a four-year term as a gubernatorial appointee to the Florida Board of Medicine, ending her term as the Vice Chairman for the Board and Chairman of several major committees. Judge Campbell is Past President of the St. Petersburg Bar Association, Past President (twice) of the Barney Masterson Inn of Court, Past President of the Stetson College of Law Alumni Association and formerly one of the founding members of the St. Petersburg Bar Foundation.
She has received numerous awards for her dedication to professionalism and her community service, including: Named as the Florida 2018 Jurist of the Year by the American Board of Trial Advocates; Recognized by American Board of Trial Advocates, Tampa Bay Chapter, for her commitment to civility and professionalism (2018); Inducted into the Stetson College of Law Hall of Fame in 2022; The William Castagna Award for Judicial Excellence by the Masterson Inn of Court (2015); The St. Petersburg Bar Judicial Appreciation Award (2014); Heroes Among Us Award by the St. Petersburg Bar Foundation (2006); Richard T. Earle, Jr. Professionalism Award by the Masterson Inn of Court (2003); The Gulf Coast Business Review Professionalism Award presented by the St. Petersburg Bar Association (2003); and the Ben C. Willard Award by the Stetson Lawyers Alumni Association for humanitarian achievements in 2021, and inducted into Stetson’s Hall of Fame in 2022.
She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of South Florida and went on to receive a Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in 1989.
