Join the Pinellas County Estate Planning Council for our December program to learn more about elder abuse and scams that impact our aging population.  We will be hosting a panel discussion with representatives from the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Department of Children and Families Adult Protective Services, and our FBI Field Office.  Educating our members from diverse estate planning perspectives is key to helping ensure the vibrancy and safety of our aging community.  Come prepared with any questions you may have so we can make the most of our time together with the experts joining us.

Meet our Panel:

Anne Marie Winter, Executive Director, Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas

Ann Marie is responsible for leading the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas (AAAPP) and providing for its strategic vision and direction.  She develops and nurtures partnerships to improve the lives of seniors and persons with disabilities and oversees the $35,000,000 annual investment that helps 65,000 seniors each year age in place. She serves as the agency’s representative to its state and federal partners and has 30 years of experience working with complex domestic and multi-national social service and humanitarian organizations. She has worked internationally on behalf of the US Government and United Nations to provide durable solutions to marginalized populations.  Ann Marie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from New York University and speaks French and Croatian fluently. 

 

Agent Michael Donovan, Federal Bureau of Investigation

Michael Donovan is the Supervisory Senior Resident Agent (SSRA) for the FBI Tampa, Pinellas Resident Agency.   SSRA Donovan joined the FBI in 2012 and was assigned to the Tampa Division.  Prior to joining the FBI, SSRA Donovan worked in local law enforcement, as a police officer, for 8 years, while also attending law school during that time. SSRA Donovan has successfully investigated violent crime, gangs, and complex financial crime to include health care fraud offenses.  SSRA Donovan completed an 18-month assignment to FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C.  at the FBI Safe Streets and Gang Unit as a program manager. In this role, SSRA Donovan helped provide oversight and guidance to 175 Department of Justice authorized task forces comprised of over 1100 FBI Agents and 1700 Task Force Officers from state, local, and federal agencies.  During this time, SSRA Donovan worked closely with the Department of Justice Organized Crime and Gang Section.

 

Laura Hinson Government Operations Consultant w/ Department of Children and Families(DCF), Adult Protective Services.

Upon receiving her degree in Criminology from the University of Indianapolis, Laura Hinson began her career in the human services field. She has spent her entire career dedicated to protecting those from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. She has had many work opportunities leading up to her time with the Department, including grant writing and proposing bills to state legislators, the U.S. Congress, and to the U.S. Senate. She spent time in Washington, D.C. aiding writing bills and was on the house floor when one of the bills supporting community change was passed. She worked as a child protective investigator at the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office prior to her career with DCF and has worked in the roles of Adult Protective Investigator, Human Services Program Specialist, Adult Protective Investigator Supervisor and Senior Human Services Specialist prior to her current role. Laura holds certifications in Project Management and DMAIC in Lean Six Sigma, Associate Trainer with International Board of Certified Trainers and is a Florida Certified Contract Manager.
