Speaker Bio:

Michael E.S. McCarthy

Managing Director, Trust Fiduciary Executive, Office of Chief Fiduciary, U.S. Trust

Michael E.S. McCarthy is the Trust Fiduciary Executive for the Central and Western Divisions of U.S. Trust. Michael is a trusts and estates attorney and is admitted to practice law in New York and California.

Prior to joining U.S. Trust seven years ago, Mr. McCarthy was the managing director, chief fiduciary officer, and director of the Wealth Analytics Group at an international private bank for 12 years. Prior to moving into private wealth management, Mr. McCarthy, practiced law for 14 years with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in New York and Los Angeles, specializing in estate planning and structuring charitable gift transfers for affluent families.

Michael received his B.A. from Holy Cross College, his M.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, from Oxford University, England, and his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where he was the Executive Editor of the Law Journal.

Michael currently serves on the Paintings Conservation Council at the J. Paul Getty Museum. He has also served on the board of directors of Common Ground and Project New Hope, both of which he founded in Santa Monica, California.
